So today my new Samsung SyncMaster 2233bw monitor arrived. I ordered it exactly one week ago and it is here already, now that is really fast. The last time i ordered something from Pixmania it took about 4 weeks!, but that delay was caused by the high amount of packages that were being sent since it was Christmas time.
Shortly after i arrived home from college today i got a phone call, it turned out to be the DHL delivery man, he was looking for directions. It was great i had’nt expected it to be delivered today, I had thought it might of come on friday. So i got the package after signing for it and straight away begun to open it
From the appearence of the box it didnt look like it was going to be very big, but by the time i had it opened and set up it looked pretty big and impressive. But once it was finally switched on, i really noticed the difference. The screen resolution is 1680 x 1050 pixels. It is really bright and displays the different colours brilliantly. Also it is 22″ in size and and has built in features such as MagicBright, MagicColor and so on. Also it has a built in sleep timer so it wont be wasting any power, you just simply set how long you want before it shuts off, simple

So in the box was the monitor (Obviously), a VGA cable, a DVI cable, power cord, cleaning cloth, manual, warranty card and a driver disc. It was really easy to set up and was definitly worth the €169 that i paid
When i was going to order this new monitor i wanted one that had support for DVI, i recently noticed that i had a port for a DVI connection and decided that when i was going to change the screen that i would like it to support DVI, since DVI outputs a higher quality picture. Up until now i have been using the VGA cable, which is basically standard with most monitors. Also i kept in mind that i wanted the new monitor that i ordered to be in widescreen format, because i was getting tired of my old monitor, it was square and when you are looking at a monitor all day, it is best to have a nice big screen with a really crisp picture
So I would definitly recommend buying this monitor, all of this for only €169, it is definitly worth it. You can get it over at Pixmania.

Lately i have just been taking it easy. I havent been up to much really. Today i had my first driving lesson, it went on for just over an hour, it went well i have to say and i am now booked in for some further lessons. I want to get my full licence as soon as possible.
Also today i got my result for an exam in internetworking that i did last thursday, i got 84% which is brilliant.
I had expected to do really well since it was open-book and also i found it really easy in comparison to previous work. I had thought that it would of been tough based on the type of work that we had been doing in college up to then.
I am still waiting on my new monitor to be delivered, i found out it is been courriered by DHL, i have not had any experience with this company and so i do not know how long it will take for the delivery. Hopefully they are fast. I have used UPS before and they are fast so i am hoping this company is the same.
Other than that i am almost finished college just under a week left now and then my exams will be in another weeks time. I reckon i should do allright in my exams, i do not want to have to repeat any as i had to repeat one exam last year and not that i was really worried about it, it just hangs in the back of your mind and you know you have to do it. So this time round i intend on passing the lot, first time

Tomorrow i will be going out on my first driving lesson with a driving instructor. I have however been out before with my dad but now the time has come to get my few lessons to get ready to take the driving test for the full licence.
I am looking foward to taking this lesson because i am eagar to start to drive out on my own. I have also got something that will inspire me to want to learn fast. This week i went and bought a car
its my first car and at the moment i cannot drive it
basically because i do not have a full licence and it is now unacceptable to be driving around with a provisional licence.
I have allready been online with various different insurance companys to see what there best quote for me will be. It is not easy trying to get insurance when you car 19! I have however found that the prices vary a lot from company to company. My lowest quote so far for a full year’s insurance is about €1,300. Which is not too bad considering my age and i only have the provisional licence.
I looked ahead for next year’s insurance for when the time will come for renewal and the price looks better. It drops by about €300 just for the fact that i will be 20, one year seems to make a massive difference, but the way they begin to see it i reckon is that you are no longer a ‘teenager’ and should be more wise when it comes to driving.
Anyway i have no picture of my car taken yet so when i do i might just post it up here some day.

First off, for those who do not know what uStream is, it is basically a video community where you can go and watch live shows covering various topics from sport to entertainment and gaming. Also you can take part in the discussion that is going on live by interacting with other users through the IRC chat available on each live show’s page.
I signed up for a uStream account about a year or so ago, i do not broadcast a live show nor do i ever intend to
But the reason why signed up was so that i could take part in chat rooms and favorite certain live channels. You can join in the chat even if you are not a registered use however you have some undefined name given to you, but you can set a temporary username but i find it just easier to sign up once and not have to set my username each time.
Up until recently the uStream site looked like this..

It looked okay, but i always thought it could of done with a complete re-design. Now however they have done just that and have released there new design that looks like this..

I think the new design looks great and looks more modern. They also finally changed the look of there video player, i am not too pushed on how it looks now but it is better than the old one
Also another thing to note with the looks of the new site, it looks a hell of a lot like hulu!

Yesterday i decided that i would buy myself a new monitor for my computer. I am sick and tired of looking at my basically square monitor. It is a flat panel on at the moment but it is just too square!
I have been wanting to get a new monitor for a while now and bit by bit i am upgrading my different sections on my computer, first new speakers then a new desk then a new keyboard & mouse and now a new monitor
the only thing that is left that i got when my pc shipped from the factory will be just the machine.

So next time i am changing something it will be the tower part
So the monitor i ordered is the Samsung Syncmaster 2233bw 22″, it is going to seem massive when put beside this old monitor for comparison. The monitor cost €169 and i got it from Pixmania here.
So it will be great when the monitor arrives, i will be expecting to receive it next week and it will arrive by courier, i will write a post about it when i get it
