Big Heads Over At Microsoft Office!

Its not too long ago since office 2007 was released, and people are still getting used to its new look and feel as it is fairly different to the good old 2003 version. I now know my way around the office 2007 really well, and what do i hear now? They are going to be bringing out a Office 2010!
Now i dont expect the interface to change too much, i reckon it will just contain some more features and perhaps make it easier to use for users who have not grasped how to work office 2007. Apparently Microsoft Office 2010 will be compatible on Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7, basically if you can run Office 2007 then there should be no problem with Office 2010.
Anyway the reason i am calling microsoft office creators 'big-headed' is because they really think that Office 2010 is going to be a real breakthough, so much that they have made a website for it, nothing unusual there since everything has a website these days. However they decided to go a different route with this site, instead of advertising there new Office as a program they are calling it the 'Countdown to the beginning of awesome' like come on that is just really big headed, they have already set the bar high and if they dont deliver on this so called 'awesomeness' then they will have a bit of a let down!
Another thing they have done with this new site is make it just like a movie site, yep they are so confident that they are pretending the best film ever is coming when really it is just a new office application suite! It says 'In 2010 there hero will arrive' :O they expect me to view office 2010 as my hero! ;)
I cant wait to see this, as i write this there is 43 Days until the launch of the technical preview of there new office suite, and oh yeah they even have a countdown to the release! You have to see it though i just think it is funny the approach that they are taking to this new Office suite, i suppose it is creative and it will get people talking about it, just like i am :D
On there new site you can sign up for the technical preview, it is invite only so even if you apply you might not get accepted. I signed up, hopefully i get accepted :D Also they have set up a twitter page for the new office 2010. Anyway go have a look at 'The beginning of awesome' ;) on the official office 'movie' site.

One Week To Freedom!

Well the title might be a big exaggerated, its not like i am been forced against my will to go to college :D But anyway i have now officially only got one week of college left. And of that week only 3 part days i actually have to go in for because i only have three exams left. For these remaining exams i am pretty confident that i will pass them, one i know i have passed already and the other two are not far of the pass mark either.

Once college is finished i will begin to work more at my job, we are currently understaffed so it plays in my benefit since i get more hours :D usually when the summer comes my part-time job usually turns into a full time job. But at the moment my job feels like a full time job because i have been working some very ridiculas hours, for example we didnt get out of work last friday until midnight when the store closed at 9pm! It just shows that they have too much to do and not enough staff!
Also next week i intend to do a lot of work on my partnership .ie domain and i hope to get it up and running fast. Once it is up and running i will make a post here telling everyone what it is:D I will tell you one thing, since it is a .ie domain it will be used to target the irish market and the site has got one major irish site that is in the same category as the one that we are making, the plan is to beat it in rank and hopefully catch more irish traffic than them ;) it is a big goal to achieve considering the copetitiopn but i reckon with some good SEO skills, it could be do-able.
After that i really want to get to work on finishing my design for my EntertainmentClam site, it is a long time ago that i said that i was going to change the look of it, and never did! however i did make the decision this year to renew the domain registration for another year so i want to try and make it work one more time. It does receive traffic,last month it received 361 unique visits, which is not bad since i havent added any new fresh content in about two and a half months! So once i focus more on adding new content i reckon that figure should begin to grow again. Currently the majority of my visitors are coming from the United Kingdom and the United States.
Also i have registered a new .com domain about a month ago, registered two names for it :D I have not done anything with it yet and i havent even pointed it to my server yet, so i would like to try and do something with that. The summer is the best time to get started with that since what the site revolves around is less popular during the summer months.
And more more thing i have to do before all this is work on 2 websites, the first is a quick update for a limo site, that will only take a day, if even that. And then the second is for a band.
So by the looks of things i have a fair bit to get done, and that is only so far, i am sure i will think of a few more things to spend my time on :D
YouTube Beta Testing New User Profile Pages

As usual i like to let everyone know about the new things happening around YouTube, its not even like i use YouTube a lot for uploading videos i just use if for watching videos, i just like to keep in the know of what is changing with the YouTube site :D Anyway here is the latest change that YouTube soon hope to be implementing across every YouTube users profile.
It is a complete revamp on the appearence of how your user profile will look. They have already made changes within the last year in relation to users profile pages by making the width of the page wider to enable having a more widescreen video on the profile page. Now however they are going to scrap the old style user pages and replace them with a more fresh look.
When looking at how the new profiles will look, it makes me wonder since they differ so much from the general appearence of the rest of the site, if they will soon be releasing a complete re-design?
There are however a few main reasons on why they have decided to change the appearence of the user profile pages. They have now made it that the featured video is on the top left of the page with a list of the users uploaded videos, favourite videos and playlists on the right hand side of the video box. When you choose to watch one of the videos the user uploaded or favourited then it will just simply change the video that is in the featured box.
This is done so that when someone is watching a video they will spend a bit more time on a users page and perhaps watch a few more of there videos :D, it is a good idea so that more of your videos you upload might finally get that recognition it deserves :D.
They are also now impleting a new method of editing how you edit the look of your profile. They have added a new channel editing toolbar at the top of the page so that you can choose which modules to include in your site or not. Also you can edit your profiles title and add some tags to your profile, And of course you can edit the colour scheme of the profile live on the page without having to constantly flip back and foward to and from your channel page to see how it actually looks :D This is a great addition to the page , it makes customization a lot easier :D.
You can now also move the different modules on your profile by simply clicking the arrows in the direction you want to move the modules too :D, yet another method to try and make channel customization a little easier :D.
I think that this new channel editor bar takes up a little too much of the screen, it would be better if it would auto hide and a little tab was just there so that when you want to edit your page it will only appear then by hovering or clicking on it :D Other than that problem i think that the new idea of changing th channels layout is great and look foward to when they are finished with all the new modifications they are adding.
Also as a note the channels are in BETA testing so this means that things can go wrong such as modules not appearing and videos not working on your channel, this is why it is slightly hidden away and not so straight foward to sign up to the beta test! So far i have not noticed any problems, and if you do find any you can simply report them to the develpoers since they have set up a mini blog to keep you updated on new fixes and changes they have implemented and also they encourage you to input your opinion or any faults you expierence.
