Strategy Games

Posted by: Sean | Posted on: June 6th, 2009 | 0 Comments

Every so often i like to play a few games on the pc, i am not really into the war kind of games. I am more into the strategy or ones that focus on building up a community or city. Some of my favourite games would include, RollerCoaster Tycoon, Zoo Tycoon, Emperor and Age Of Empires.

They are just a few, i like to start a community from nothing and build it up to be really successful, also games with natural disasters add a little twist to it making good obstacles for you to oversome such as hurricanes and floods in Sim City.

However most of these games have been updated lately so that you can view them in a more 3D view, this makes everything in the game look too big and i think game developers seems to be going in the route of the sims with how there games look. I like the sims but i dont want that kind of game in all the games i play.

I like how the original zoo tycoon looked:

and hate the way the more modern version of it looks:

I just prefer the old style of the games, maybe its just me i dont know, its just my opinion on it :D

Bad Internet Connection Lately

Over the past few weeks i have noticed that my broadband connection has become very prone to turning on and off. It is really beginning to get on my nerves. I could load a web-page and then read the page or watch a video that is on that page, but then i would go to click onto another page and then get the 'Page cannot be found' message which indicated my bloody internet has gone down!

I would then have to wait for the router to reboot which takes a few minutes and then hope that it will stay connected for a while, but most of the time it will disconnect within the next hour!

I have tried so many different things to get this fixed and nothing has worked, i have phoned up Eircom many times to try and get it fixed but they say they dont know what causes it to happen and once before when i rang up the man said sure why would you want the internet to be working at 2am! And i kind of just thought, first of all it is none of your business why i want to be on the internet at that time, and secondly i am paying for a service and it is not being provided the way it should be, and they wont even offer a discount on the months broadband because of the inconvience that they cause by not having the broadband working all the time :(

I replaced the router at one stage and still had the same problem so i am out of ideas! I know other people are expierencing problems with eircoms broadband lately, i think it is time i ring them up again and keep doing it until they do something about it!

A Good Idea For A WordPress Plugin/Feature

I was thinking that when it comes to writing a blog post, at least once i will make a spelling mistake. Usually i will save the post as a draft and then pop over to see a preview of how the post will look once i finally publish it. I would then read through the full post and look for any spelling mistakes that i may have done and not noticed.

I always find at least one. I was thinking that a great plugin/feature that could be made or implemented into wordpress would be the abilitly to edit the post live when viewing your site. So the concept of this would be that it would only work if you were logged into you site and then view the site while logged in, it would be great that if i was looking at a post that i could just click the text and edit it live without having to continuously flick to and from the post editor, it would save a lot of time and would be such a convenience.

That is just a thought i was having, as far as i know this has not been made for wordpress yet, and if it has i would love to know how i can do it :D

If i had any idea how to go about making a wordpress plugin i reckon i would try and make one like this as i  am sure a lot of people would benefit from a live text editior for wordpress.
