Save money on calls to UK with Eircom
Posted by: Sean | Posted on: August 23rd, 2009 | 2 Comments
Our current phone service supplier is Eircom, they seems to be the best, or at least the most dependable in many ways. Eircom do have many many faults, however whenever we switch to different providers we always end up switching back to Eircom.
We ring England a lot, because we have many relations over there :D . So after looking around on Eircom's site for a while, we came across a package which is added onto your account. It is called Eircom Talk UK.
The way this extra service works is that you are given an extra phone line, theoretically it is actually just the same line. There is no actual extra physical phone line added to the house. The way it works is through your broadband, if you do not have broadband then this service is useless to you.
When you order Eircom Talk UK, Eircom will send you out a new router, this will have extra ports on the back of it so that you can connect an extra phone line into it, then to set it up you just go into your router's setting as instructed.

It is really simple to set up, and then you can have two people talking at the same time on separate phones. With the Eircom Talk UK package you get 600 minutes of call to the UK and then it also allows you to call local and national calls in Ireland too. For all this you would expect it to cost a lot, however it is only €5 a month!
So if you spend more than €5 a month on calls to the UK and you are an Eircom customer, it is definitely worth your while signing up to this service. Eircom also have another package similar to this one, it allows you to call up to 20 international countries for 600 minutes for €10, the countries that are covered in that €10 price include UK, US and Australia just to name a few.

The reason i pointed this out is because a lot of people have never heard of this additional package. IF you want to find this package on the Eircom site go to just follow these few clicks: Go to Eircom.ie then on the left click 'Products & Services' then click 'Broadband' on the left then choose 'Broadband Talk' on the left again.
My Favourite Television Show

Over the past few years there have been many great TV shows, i will usually watch the majority of TV shows providing they are not complete rubbish. Most of my favourite shows have ended now, such as prison break.
I had heard a lot about the show called House M.D. and just assumed that it was just another doctor show, and thought that it would be complete waste of time watching it. The first time i saw it was when i was actually supposed to be revising notes for an exam in college, someone had it playing on their laptop and i just got a little sidetracked with watching it :D .
Throughout this summer i watched every episode of all 5 seasons out to date, and i have to say it is definitely the most addicting show on television that i have seen in such a long time. I always hate when i have finished catching up on a show, because i know i have to wait until September now before i get to see the next season.
Season six of house is going to be absolutely amazing without a doubt, every season just keeps getting better and better and the way the show is written is great. Dr.House is a complete wreck of a man who is addicted to taking pain medicine and refuses to get help to kick his habit.
I do not want to say much about what the actual plot is about, because i reckon that if you are reading this post and have not watched the show it would be annoying to know what happens before you get to watch it, i know i would be!
Season six of House starts on September 21st of this year, and the plot for this next season is just amazing. Below i have embedded the preview of the next season, if you have not watched the show up until the end of season 5 then this will ruin what happens so don't watch it! Or if you never watched the show before then you might not want to see the video.
Finally Home From Hospital

For the past six days i was in hospital. Originally i was only supposed to be in for three days however after a few tests they soon found out that more in depth tests were required to try and find out what exactly is causing the problem.
The reason i went into hospital was to have tests run to see what may be causing my high blood pressure; it is usually unknown what actually is causing high blood pressure however it is always best to be safe and have a check anyway.
I had a lot of different scans and tests carried out. Over the six days i ended up staying in for i had multiple scans including a ultra sound, CT scan, echo scan, chest scan. I also had other blood test carried out on a daily basis, and also had a biopsy.
The list really does go on, quite far! Anyway after this long list of tests it turns out that most likely there is an actual underlying cause to my high blood pressure. Apparently my kidneys are not working nearly as well as they should be so that is the most probable cause of the high blood pressure.
So if a solution to getting my kidneys working better can be found, which is why a biopsy was done on them, then it could possibly fix my high blood pressure :D . Anyway it is great to be home again, being in hospital for a few days really can become boring since you wake up at 6.30 in the morning and usually don't go to sleep until 11.30 to 12.00 that night!
