Making a few changes

There were some parts of this blog that I felt deserved to be noticed more and parts that I wanted to remove completely. The first thing I have changed on this blog is that I have removed my list of archives from the sidebar, I done this because I thought it took up a lot of unnecessary space where I could have other things.
In place of the archives I have now added in two lists in its place, the first list is my 5 most recent blog posts and the second list is the 5 most popular blog posts on this blog today. These two lists used to be in the footer but I decided to shorten that down too.
The footer used to be ridiculously big in height, I decided to remove the majority of the footer contents, I took out the two lists and moved them to the sidebar and completely took out the tag cloud, I really only had the tag cloud there to fill in the extra space that would of been in the footer. Now the footer is shorter and only shows a few stats!
The next change I made was to make the overall height of the front page of my blog to be shorter in length, I used to have 5 full blog posts showing, now instead I only have 3 full posts.
I also took out a bar from the bottom of my posts, this bar used to allow you to share it around other websites, but I decided to take it out because I didn’t like how it looked, I will most likely in future add different methods of sharing my posts.
And the final change I made was removing the comment box on pages on my blog, you can still comment on blog posts as usual however you could never post comments on the pages since I disabled this feature, when the posting comments on pages feature is disabled, a box appears telling you that you cannot comment, I thought this was pointless so I just removed it.
Then I just made some other touch-ups with the code such as removing code sections that I had commented out previously.
I think making all these changes helps increase the speed of my blogs load speed, the speed my blog now loads at is 0.667 seconds, which is pretty fast I think 
.
I also decided to upgrade a few plugins on my site, while doing this my archive plugin broke and I could not get it to work again, that plugin was called Smart Archives Reloaded, since it would no longer work I tried out a few other plugins that were good but were just not right for the site, mainly because they would not fit the width of my page, the final archives plugin I settled for is called Clean Archives Reloaded, it looks great and has a nice looking JavaScript effect for showing and hiding different months archives.
