So this is the week before my exams begin. In total i will have 6 exams. They are spaced out over two weeks which is great because it leaves a gap of roughly 1 day between each exam. So this week, the week before the exams, there is no college :D

The reason there is no college is to give us a chance to prepare for the exams and cram, cram, cram! I always have the tendency to cram the night before. The likes of this study week i will be looking over my notes and getting ready for the exams, however i always find that i do my best studying the night before the exam. Usually this week will envolve me preparing my notes.

As it stands with my overall results so far, i reckon i should do alright in the final exams. This is because my classes are split into partial CA (Continuous Assessment) and partial exam based, which is next week. In most of my classes i have gotton really high CA results and i reckon that i have passed at least 2 exams already before i even go and sit the test next week:D This puts me at a bit more ease as i know that if i mess up on the test that i have allready passed and there will be no need to worry as much.

The last thing i want, is to fail any of my exams. Last summer i failed one of my exams and was forced to repeat it :( but the second time round i passed it :D This year however i intend to pass all my exams first time round and have my summer free to enjoy. And after all i have a lot planned for this summer with leaving the country a few times, so if i had to repeat an exam it would probably overlap with one of my trips out of Ireland which would be annoying.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine

Posted by: Sean | Posted on: Saturday, May 2nd, 2009 | 0 Comments - Post a Comment!

Tonight i went to see X-Men Origins: Wolverine, I had heard a lot about the film. Many people did not enjoy it all all while others thought it was great. As usual i like to watch films even if others thought that it was terrible. The reason i do this is because not everyone is the same, a lot of people have there own different opinions about what they do and do not like.

Wolverine

Why let others tell you that a film is not good, if you believed them and you never watched it, then you could have just missed out on potentially your favourite film! Why not become your own critic and decide what is good for you?

Anyway i went to see the new Wolverine film tonight, i thought it was great. Full of action and really inherits the true character and storyline of who Wolverine really is. Hugh Jackman plays Wolverine brilliantly, i could not imagine anybody else playing this role, and if they ever replaced him, it would not be the same.

I even heard that this film was leaked online a month early, even though i knew about this, i decided to wait and see it in the cinema, i did not want to ruin it on myself. Sure it would of been great to see it early, but why not go and see the film after all the touch ups have been applied and get to see it the way it was meant to be seen! :D

Anyway enough of me going on about this film, just go out and see it for yourself. Be your own critic!

Samsung SyncMaster 2233bw Monitor Review

Posted by: Sean | Posted on: Thursday, April 30th, 2009 | 7 Comments

So today my new Samsung SyncMaster 2233bw monitor arrived.  I ordered it exactly one week ago and it is here already, now that is really fast. The last time i ordered something from Pixmania it took about 4 weeks!, but that delay was caused by the high amount of packages that were being sent since it was Christmas time.

Shortly after i arrived home from college today i got a phone call, it turned out to be the DHL delivery man, he was looking for directions. It was great i had’nt expected it to be delivered today, I had thought it might of come on friday. So i got the package after signing for it and straight away begun to open it :D

From the appearence of the box it didnt look like it was going to be very big, but by the time i had it opened and set up it looked pretty big and impressive. But once it was finally switched on, i really noticed the difference. The screen resolution is 1680 x 1050 pixels. It is really bright and displays the different colours brilliantly. Also it is 22″ in size and and has built in features such as MagicBright, MagicColor and so on. Also it has a built in sleep timer so it wont be wasting any power, you just simply set how long you want before it shuts off, simple :)

So in the box was the monitor (Obviously), a VGA cable, a DVI cable, power cord, cleaning cloth, manual, warranty card and a driver disc. It was really easy to set up and was definitly worth the €169 that i paid :D

When i was going to order this new monitor i wanted one that had support for DVI, i recently noticed that i had a port for a DVI connection and decided that when i was going to change the screen that i would like it to support DVI, since DVI outputs a higher quality picture. Up until now i have been using the VGA cable, which is basically standard with most monitors. Also i kept in mind that i wanted the new monitor that i ordered to be in widescreen format, because i was getting tired of my old monitor, it was square and when you are looking at a monitor all day, it is best to have a nice big screen with a really crisp picture :D

So I would definitly recommend buying this monitor,  all of this for only €169, it is definitly worth it. You can get it over at Pixmania.
