Summer Break On The Horizon

This year at college will soon be coming to an end. There is not much time left now until my exams. I have only 2 weeks left of classes in college now, then i will have a week off for ‘Study’ then over the following 2 weeks my summer exams will take place.

So in total i only have 5 weeks before my summer break and it will definitely fly by between now and when my exams begin.

This summer i have a fair bit going on, i will be visting England for a while to see my relatives and also will be returing later to Scotland for a trip with a few of my friends. Also i will be working my ass off in my job because once the summer comes the hours i work usually go up a lot, this is great since the only thing that keeps me going is the thought of how much i will be getting paid :D

My online presence will also increase a fair bit this summer with my intentions of focusing on building up on various sites that i am working on. One such site is a .ie site, i havent said much or if not anything about this site yet because i am still waiting on confirmation for the website.

In order to build a .ie website you have to get given permission by the IEDR, basically they do this so they can monitor what content will be available on the irish network of sites, if they do not approve then you cannot have the domain. It is a lot of hassle to get a .ie domain and also expensive, so if all goes to plan and we get the go ahead i will update this blog with what the .ie domain will be about :)

Google Chrome

Over the past few weeks i have started to use Google Chrome as my main internet browser, i decided to start using it more because it is really fast to open. Although i really like Firefox i will be using Chrome for the next while for the bulk of my browsing.

I will however still be using Firefox because i use it a lot when editing websites because of all the great plugins that i have that make problem solving with websites a breeze. I will never go back and use Microsoft’s Internet Explorer and have not used it in about 2 years now.

I found that when watching some of the high definition videos in firefox it made the video jump when you try to play it when the video is still finishing off downloading. In chrome however i found that it plays seamlessly, i would assume this has to do with the fact that because Firefox uses so much memory compared to other applications, when you try to run a HD video it just becomes a little too much and since Chrome uses less memory it dosent find it as such a struggle to play the HD videos.

There are a few other reasons i switched to chrome, i like how much screen space i now have with this browser, i can see a lot more of the page which is great :D

There is one other time when i use all of my internet browsers, (Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer), i use them when i want to check to make sure that my website is displaying right in all the different browsers, because chances are when you are designing and using the one browser to check if it is looking ok, by time you come to finally check it when you are finished you will most likely find something that has broken in one of the different browsers because the code differs slightly from browser to browser.

Went To See Fast And Furious

Posted by: Sean | Posted on: Wednesday, April 15th, 2009 | 0 Comments - Post a Comment!

Tonight i went to see the new Fast And Furious film. I liked the film, it turned out better than i thought it might of. It has basically gone back to the original storyline, its less like the third film and is more like a continuation of the first. The third film ‘Tokyo Drift’ was really overboard, i enjoyed it but not the best at all.

In this new film its full of action. I like the way the cars are not all out with the paint work, i prefer it when the cars actually look normal and not like a ‘boy racer’ car, when you put stupid colours and racing stripes on a car i think it makes it look cheap.

Also Vin Diesel is back in this film, i think all of Vin Diesel’s films are great, and to have him back in this film makes it more interesting. And once again it looks like they have left the film open for another, although there is no word if there will be, there will still be an opening if they decide to make one.

The only problem i had with the film was that the night i decided to go on was student night, which although its great since i get a discount i forgot the fact that everyone decides to go that night and i ended up having to sit at the very front row where you basically have to slouch back in the seat to be able to see the film, even though my seat was terrible i still enjoyed the film.

Check out the trailer below, it looks great.
