No internet, and Google pacman

Now that college and my exams are over I have finally got around to playing my Xbox games again. I always meant to get playing some games again but just ended up getting side tracked with the internet.

Today however I didn't do very much at all I didn't go on the internet at all up until now so I could make this blog post. I spent the whole morning asleep then I just drove around in the car, went to work and that it!

The first thing I did notice tonight when I went online is that Google have changed their logo to an interactive Pacman game! I definitely spent a while messing about with it, it is probably the most different thing that Google have made to their homage in relation to custom images!

The game auto starts after a few seconds, but you can click the insert coin button to get it started quicker if you want.

And of course there is already a Facebook page created for it and at the moment there is 223,799 people who have liked it! The power of that site is just mental. So if you have played the games maybe you should go and like the page?!

Today I had intended on clearing out my computer and reinstalling Windows but that never happened, I will have to get around to doing that another day over the weekend when I am not at work.

Time for a new theme?

Last April I put this theme on my blog. I feel that it might be time to chop and change it a bit. I do like how it looks, but I feel that more could be done with it. I like my logo, it looks really good and I don't think I want it to change too much. I think however the page could do with a bit of brightening up, everything seems a bit dull. There are things in my design that I want to move, for example in the footer there is links to recent posts, I want to move these to somewhere more visible so that they can be seen when people visit the site, because most people won't scroll down to the footer, so to entice people to maybe stay a little longer I will move them somewhere else. I also have a tag cloud in my footed, I really don't see the point of the so that will most likely go, so the only thing left down there that takes up a fairly large amount of space is my recent comments, I will either try and find a new place for that or they will be going too! My target is to get the new / modified theme up in April too just like I did last year.

Now Is The Time To Begin The Work

As you can see in the picture above I have put my music video / entertainment site into a maintenance state. Now if anyone decides to pop over to www.entertainmentclam.com they will just be simply greeted by this little splash screen.

I have wanted to get around to upgrading that site for a long time and now that I have moved it from my old server to my new one I think that it would be an appropriate time to temporarily shut it down so that I can start to get a move on with the re-construction of the site. I want to first off upgrade the version of the software that was on the site. The version I was using was not the latest so I am taking this opportunity get around to sorting that out.

I also want to make a nice looking site that nobody else has, I know that this is a really huge task for me to undertake, but I want to put myself under some pressure, I want more pressure to learn more about web design, I have been lacking in web development over the past few weeks.

So now in my spare time, or basically whenever I am not at work, I will be devoting my time to the 'EntertainmentClam' website, I might decide to post a few status updates to this blog to let everyone know what I am getting up to. Also I will definitely be using its twitter account a lot over the next while and may be looking for some help on certain problems I might run into. The code that is running on the 'EntertainmentClam' is the most complex code that I have ever worked with, it usually takes me 10 times longer to get something done, I want to be able to get work on it faster so I am going to try and study how the main features work so I can navigate through the code at a fairly quick pace.

Another thing I want to get done is to try and make a nice new logo for the site, the one that was on it looked ok, but is just not what I am looking for, so that will be another challenge for me as I am not too good with graphic design!
