A great image editing plugin for WordPress
Posted by: Sean | Posted on: August 30th, 2009 | 0 Comments
A great feature of the Wordpress platform is that it allows you to easily implement pictures into your posts & pages with little to no effort.
However there has always been one thing missing from this, that is the ability to crop, and rotate your images live whilst you upload them. On numerous occasions i have uploaded a picture and then realized that i had put it the wrong way round. I would then have to re-upload a rotated version; this all takes time, time that i could use doing something else.

Tonight i was looking about the Wordpress plugin's page and found a great small plugin that lets you crop, resize, rotate and add watermarks to your pictures. You do not have to upload a picture then go to a different page in your admin panel to edit the picture, the plugin is implemented into the existing Wordpress image upload box and it only takes 2 seconds to fix up a picture.
I know for sure i will be using this plugin a lot in the future. The plugin is called: Scissors and can be found on the Wordpress plugin directory.
X-Men Origins: Wolverine – Leaked Online

Here is a topic that i had meant to talk about a long time ago. The new X-Men film titled "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" was leaked by someone to the online community before the final production cuts had been applied, the studio said: "It was without many effects, had missing and unedited scenes and temporary sound and music,".
The studio is worried that by people downloading this illegal version of the film that since it is uncomplete that they might not enjoy it fully, and therefore they might recommend to there friends not to go see it, this could have a major impact on the box office profits.
The FBI are investigating the case to find out who exactly stole and leaked the advanced copy of the film, they have many different techniques on how they will attempt to track down the person who released it, one way is by reading the Digital Watermark, the studio said that they mark each bit of there conent that they give out so that they can track it down to the source if such a case happens like this one.
In my opinion if you watch the advanced copy it will just ruin the fun of seeing the final version when it is released on May 1st, its not that long too wait and even if you did watch the illegal copy you should go see the film when it is released even just to see how much you missed out on.
I am really looking foward to seeing this film when it finally comes out and even though it is available to download at torrent sites i will just wait to see the final polished version, seeing this early version is just like if you were reading a book, if you skip to the end when you just begin it you will most likely not bother reading the rest of it, instead just be patient and read the full book and eventually you will see the full picture and enjoy it even more.
Here is a trailer for the "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" film, due out may 1st 2009:
Take That ISP

The pirate bay have fought back now against the isp's that decide to begin to ban people that are downloading illegal files from sites such as the pirate bay, this will most likely annoy the IRMA (the Irish Recorded Music Association) here in ireland as they intended on using people's ip address to ban them.

The new service is called IPREDator, basically this service will cloak your ip address by putting it through a virtual server and then you will be able to download anonymously, the service is currently in BETA and you can go to there site to sign up for a beta pass. When it is finally launched it will cost about €5 a month, now that really cheap!
The great thing is that IPREDator will not store any of your information in log files and it will make the task of your isp trying to block you a lot harder.
Take that IRMA and Eircom!
