A lot of computer maintenance to do
Posted by: Sean | Posted on: March 31st, 2010 | 0 Comments
Currently I am on my two week Easter break from college, I am really enjoying having the time off, not having to get up and go to college (I would say get up early for college, however I don't really do that :) ).
So I suddenly have been given a lot of work from different people. I have just finished fixing a laptop and now I have another two computers to fix and a laptop! And once I have this lot of computers fixed I have another computer on its way, talk about busy!
So tomorrow is my day off from work and I intend to use it to get all of these computers fixed, get them out of the way so I can focus on other work I have to get done.
I have a few assignments due for college when I get back, so ideally I would like to have those done too before I get back after my break.
I also have to complete a website I am building and I have another one lined up when this one is finished :) .
It is great getting all this extra work, gives me plenty of time to gain more experience and earn some extra money :D .
Silence on the blog front

It's been over a week now since i last visited this blog. I have been so busy i have had no time to actually sit down and get a post sorted for the night.
There are a lot of reasons for my absense on this blog. I have been working constantly with my job. It is supposed to be a part-time job however with the hours i am getting these days it definitly would feel worse than a full time job! Some shifts can be 12 hours.
And that work-rate is not going to slow down over the next few weeks or months, as Christmas is approaching (we actually put Christmas decorations out today!) in a few months it means that we will be working more and more. I am greatfull to have the hours, however working day after day with these hours is just mental!
I am back at college too, so between college and work, my time is pretty stretched out. This week i also went to the funeral of my Great Granny, 101 years old! And i also had an appointment with the hospital this week.
So when i did finally get some time to sit down to my computer i would usually just put on some music and then work away with a website that i am doing for an Electrical Company. I was pushing to have the first version of the site done for yesterday (Thursday) and i succeeded :) A lot of work went into it and i have made it live on the internet now.
There is still a lot more that will be changed on the site, i sat down yesterday and had a meeting with the owner and he was asking what i could do to improve the site. A few suggestions were made and now i have a short list of tweaks that i will be making to the site over the next week.
Busy busy busy, with all this work i hope to still manage to get out some more posts a bit more regularly. Lets hope this will not be the last post of this month!
Dreamweaver – getting to grips

Currently i have a fair bit of website work lined up. I really like getting work like this; it gives me a chance to get to grips with what i have learned from college or what i have learned by myself.
There is no point going to college and not trying to continue to progress your knowledge while you are off on holidays. Now that i will be starting back at college next week, i will have website code fresh in my head, so i will be able to get to grips with anything new that we learn this year.
The work i have been doing throughout the summer and still now requires me to use the likes of Photoshop and Dreamweaver. I never really used these programs too much until only recently and i really do like them.
I find that the more i use them, i seem to find more and more things that can be done with them that makes life easier when editing a website, especially if you have to make a huge gallery for a site, the template feature works great there :D .
